Is your Security Certificate Invalid?

Internet SecurityAgain a misconception to Internet users is that if your visiting a website with a 128 bit security certificate its safer than that of regular http protocol. The data is encrypted on the server side and the hash or encryption code that is downloaded to the browser then decrypts the encrypted data making the transfer of the data safer. This means that if a 3rd party program , spyware or person intercepting this data won't be able to understand it. I must say this is the most foolish thing I have heard in my life since in order to get the certificate all you have to do is visit the website, laughable right? I can see if the certificate was closely guarded and kept secret and only shared via snail mail and installed on the browser at one end and took a week or so to set up then maybe it would be secure but if everyone has the security certificate how is this safer? I guess its just another pointless protocol only effective in confusing BHO's installed on your browsers.

These certificates are distributed by " Security Firms online " like various 128 bit hashes anyone could generate one. I believe I used Equifax's on my site for some time once and today I still see the same hash on various other websites copied from that and I have a giggle. Oh yes so secure everyone is equifax! Whats the point. So I guess my suggestion would be you should update your encryption equifax too many people use it.
